LABORATORIUM is a new concert series located at my workplace on Sørum gård in Stange, where I invite musicians to perform some material from new and not yet finished compositions on the wonderful stage in the old barn at the farm (see photo below!). The idea is to give both the musicians and the audience a sneak peek into my creative processes. To me, it will be of great value both getting feedback from the musicians, and also performing some of the music in front of an audience, at this point in the process.
This first LABORATORIUM concert will feature a glimpse into the new commission Extincion sounds that I am composing for the festival TronTalks. Musicians invited to the lab are
Tanja Orning - cello, Jon Balke - piano, Torben Snekkestad - sax/trumpet, and myself on the double bass.
(the music is written as a double bass concerto for a chamber ensemble of a total of nine musicians)
